Pictures! What kind of steering rack do I have? 200 1989

You should have the tie rod ends ("outer") when you replace the tie rod because the condition of the internal threads may surprise you even if the ball joints seem intact. Whether you actually use them depends on what you find when you disconnect.

Because, in your old thread, Dave reminded me that I too have seen female tie rods, but neither that I stock have that configuration. I should, too, because those fit at least one of my two 83's.

Your picture looks CAM/TRW to me, and the 1387451 is what I keep for CAM racks on the 89 and later cars we have. Actually, it is dimensionally similar to the ZF tie rod, and as one of us on another forum discovered, can be interchanged in a pinch. Neither of us recommend that though. I think you are not at great financial risk ordering that one, given you can get one for $11.
