Hi there again!
Just thought you need a word from about not beating yourself up so hard over plug wires!
I think there was a time for all of us to do similar things while growing and learning! We will until we croak. Life is built that way!
You have to blame it mostly on our up bringing first of all.
We are taught from grade school to memorize our numbers and alphabet in an order. Tricks to memorize and games to use them in!
After using them for years it's becomes a natural process without a real conscious effort. We do lots of things on an autopilot platform!
When we look at a clock or watch, digital or analog we accept the numbers and location of the hands quickly. Plus we don't sweat the minutes and small numbers in between. It's a habit!
When you start working on a distributor the first thing that hits you are the numbers and their location are disoriented. Firing order....OK!
And then, the cha-cha starts!
The Number one starts from where?
Is that seven or eight O' clock and what number was it at the ten and five, the second or the fourth hole or wire, no, it was two and three wire. No, that might be backwards or the wrong order!
Ah jeez, now where is that page that the wind just puffed and turned!
Ah! Found It! Now, where was I, again! One on the clock, no it was left I think!
You need details like a notch, that you can't see or is casually not mentioned in the manual.
It's just a low tech description or if your lucky an illustration, with that space referenced but it shows more details for another part in the next section of reading.
You know, There is only so much paper allowed or space on a CD! (:-)
A detailed picture "Photo Shopped" is a real luxury of a thousand words!
There are many on here that use and take those pictures. Thankfully!
Then, we have You-Tube hi-tech talents, those that went through all of that above! Now turning themselves into Documentarians of Carnage, which goes good or bad at times, for them or the viewer!
These are nice golden nuggets for the choosing, anytime, from a newbie amateur to our own Brickboard uncertified but renowned, techies!
Again it's your automatic mode of memory working against you. Plainly not enough practice drills!
Getting warm and fuzzy with that world of unknown gadgets under there, it is not always so relaxing!
I bet it's a lot better for you now!
Yes, it does make the ride feel so much better with a sweet victory of accomplishment and more money to spend when you go somewhere, even if it's a parts store!
Well, that might be a bit much! (:-)
