Amazon Turn Signals 120-130 1966

Hi All - Recently my turn signals have stopped working completely. Two weeks before they stopped working they were working intermittently. My immediate thought is the turn signal switch, which has a little play in it when engaging the signal. Didn't want to buy a new one until I knew that is the problem. Does anyone have a method to diagnose if the problem is with the turn signal switch, wiring, or relay? Or possible a diagram of the pins on the back of the switch? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would check the turn signal relay 1st since you said neither side of the turn signal lights are work.

They are not expensive and available at most auto parts stores.

I strongly suggest that you don't mention the application as most catalogs don't list anything for the old Volvos. Just tell them you need a 2 prong 12 volt turn signal relay.

The relay is supposed to be held in place by a metal clip that is attached to the choke cable mechanism under the dash and the wires are held in a plastic insulator. Don't worry that there is a space for another wire in the plastic insulator as it never had a wire.

Hi Eric,

Took your advice and bought a new turn signal relay. Put it in and it worked. Yeaaaa. Took the car for a ride and then they stopped working again. Boooo. I got under the dash again and found a loose wire. Tightened the wire and everything is perfect again. Well at least I know that the relay is good. Thanks for the advice.

I used to get 'em for about $1.29 at a 7-11 convenience store at midnight in my pizza delivery days (I was a stickler for my lights working.. still am).. super common, universal part. Should not be hard to find.
