hot oil smell at rear wheel well 200 1988

Hi Trichard,

On any axel I've pulled on a 240, with either the old style 2 piece or newer style one piece bearing, the cup has always remained in the axel housing and the bearing is fully exposed.

If you pull the outer seal back a little bit, it's a simple matter of washing out the old grease and replacing it.

I don't understand how this is not is not practical. In the last year I've repacked an 88, 89 and 91, but maybe there are later models using sealed bearings that don't come apart on removal. I haven't seen any like that.
