Alternator bolt needed 200 1985

Hi Ben,

I'm uncertain how the setup varies.

There is a bracket, the one you describe, that pivots on the bolt secured to the front of the engine block. This bracket, at the engine end, has a rubber accessory bushing pressed into it, through which the bolt passes.

It is a metric bolt. I dunno the M(number) size or hardness or length. The bolt is a flange bolt, maybe shouldered, and the head is 12 or 13 mm. (Use six point socket.) Use a good accessory bushing.

You can call your local Volvo stealership for the actual part number. Use your fave search engine with the name Volvo and part number to find bolt dimension.

You could also call your local import auto parts store, an independent Volvo repair facility, and FCP Groton or iPd USA (whichever is closer to you) for the bolt specs that you can find locally at a brick and mortar store and online.

Someone else may have the bolt specs.

A Volvo equipped junkyard will have this bolt, also.

Questions?

Thank you.

Duff.
