once again 200

Altho this is on the same subject I posted a short awhile ago, I thought I'd get this at the top: the "debate" of an "orange" paint job, or the "common" grey, etc.. The near last post (Thanks Dave, and thanks to all of you for your replies) said, in effect: "At least an orange paint job wouldn't be boring like all the more common black, greys an white paints we see so much of". That sort of did it for me, ORANGE it is!! Definetly won't be so boring a paint job, and I am imagining a really nice paint job, one with depth, not a "common" orange. We will see. Wife is also suportive, so thats that. When? I'll let you know.

Now I call upon all of you that are considering a paint job on their beloved brick; "Go for NOT BORING!" Let's make our 'older' bricks stand out among the greys, etc. Choose your own color, and choose it well.

Maybe eventually one will see a beautiful orange, red, blue, green, etc, brick go by and say: "Now THAT'S a Volvo!!"

So Dude, what color dice you figure on hanging from the rear view ?

Just kidding Tony, I'm happy you got it settled, and hope you have fun with it.

What stands out to me is a Volvo trucking along, keeping up with traffic in the faded glory of it's original paint, touched up with the closest spray can from the hardware store. It was common to see that on cars when I was young, and I miss that. There wasn't the money around that there is today and people kept their cars a lot longer than they do now. As well, salt wasn't invented yet.

Some cars, like some people and some horses are happiest when they're working. I think the 240 is that sort, more like a tractor or a truck than a car. That's what impressed me when I first came across them. If I could tell one of my cars that I had an extra grand to put into it and what would it like, I doubt that paint or seat covers would make the list. More likely it would say " Get me a couple of tires, an oil change and put the rest in the tank. Let's go out to California and cruise the coast highway."
