I didn't mention I paid for the labor for this project. My back just won’t allow me to do those things I could have done myself many years ago. At least the labor wasn’t too bad. One thing I can do tho is change the spark plugs and cap and rotor when needed, as long as I take it slow; can't even change the oil and filter myself now tho. I used to enjoy doing those things, but at least I can enjoy the memories and driving the brick.
Memories ie: Years ago I changed/upgraded the suspension myself, new heavy duty anti-sway bars, heavy duty springs, shocks, and more, all by myself, and in our driveway. As I said, nice memories. We have had this '89 brick wagon over 15 years, and have endeavored to keep it as nice and solid as we have been able. With the same care, should last well past another 15 years. (Hope I can. Haha)
Well, I also got that ‘93 Volvo Classic wagon for a loaner (that I mentioned in a previous thread) to drive. It was nice but def needs some work. Mechanically the Classic seemed pretty sound, most it needs that I can see is a new paint job; a few minor “odds and ends” but otherwise it was fine.
With the brake job our brick is really solid now. Just oil changes and minor tune-ups as needed. Of course soemthing always seems to come up and need attention.
Nothing is ever truly finished, or perfect. :oÞ~~~
