oops, put motor oil in tranny 200

M46 transmission. I have a leak, so i went to add atf type f, grabbed wrong bottle and added 10/30 motor oil. I estimate about 4-6 oz. i need drive 500 miles this week. Do you think it will be ok? I know it will have to be flushed.
Thanks Bob

It's an M46, it doesn't really matter. The detergent in the oil is your biggest concern.

People routinely run straight SAE 30 or 40 or 15w-40 or honda MTL ... basically as long as it's the right amount of slick that the synchros can grab, and a good enough viscosity that the overdrive can work, it isn't an issue.

I do remember there being a specific note of detergent oils, but I'm not sure.

My wife will drive the car this week in town and I took hers. I was concerned with the O.D. I will change the fluid when I get home.
Thanks for the response.

I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you don't have an overdrive. Even then, half a cup in a couple of quarts is not that much contamination. Change it when you get home.
