TRUNK LATCH 200

does anyone know of a pushbutton key latch that would fit a 240? not a remote latch, but one that will allow the trunk to be opened without a key.

Volvo had an option in those days for a power lock for the trunk. The actuator was installed in the trunk and a button in the glove box, might get lucky and find one on ebay or the junk yard.

I presume you have an older volvo 240. My '84 requires a key. An '89 has a push button.

thanks, that's what I needed to know. now to find out if a 89 latch will fit my 83. I use my 240 to run errands for my restaurant and I'm in and out of the trunk a lot. the key is a pain in the ass

"now to find out if a 89 latch will fit my 83."

No. The hole in the '83 trunk lid is round and just for the lock. Later models with the push button have larger rectangular holes.

You may be able to swap trunk lids. Check your local PickNPull.

trunk latch for what car? 200

In which car? What car does this thread refer to? Which year? 83 and 89 are entirely different.

"Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the
baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together.
Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again." -- Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

The trunk key button can be set to open without
using the key. Put key in button, turn to left,
remove key. Now button opens w/o using key. Now
if your stuff gets stolen...don't call me. I
don't know if door lock buttons override that
feature. But when doors are unlocked the truck
    is also unlocked.
