AW 70 OD issue when warm 200 1985

My OD works fine when cold, but when I drive for an hour or so and then turn the vehicle off, let the vehicle sit for an hour, and then restart, the OD doesn't engage at normal cruising speed. Any ideas out there?

Does anyone else out there have this issue with their automatic? I'm amazed that I'm the only lucky contestant...

No, you're not the only one.

I've encountered this exact symptom. but waited until it became fairly consistent in not working, to chase it down. Then, I provided a pictorial on my pursuit of the root cause, here: http://cleanflametrap.com/pub_autoOD/

Of course, if my reply is like many others of mine, you will come back with the information you've already replaced solenoid/bypassed fluid passage. :D

Art, thanks so much for the link, as always! I'll take a gander at it as soon as I come up for air. I'll also guess that making sure connections are in good shape is mentioned. I'm just working on yet another new-to-me 1984 or 5 245, but my first one of 4 with an automatic. Thanks again.
