95 940: Cruise Failed, "No Speed Signal'

Anybody get a "no speed signal" code 1-2-2 from their 94/95 Volvo 940 cruise control diagnostic? The speedometer works fine but the cruise module is reporting "no speed signal" which of course causes it to stay off. I am guessing this may be a failed cruise module or a weak rear axle sensor. But has anyone else experienced this? Solution?

If the speedometer still works, it is still getting a legitimate signal from the sensor in the differential. I have a cruise control module I'll give you. Is the 940 a 1994 or 1995 model? Did you check the back of the instrument cluster for the connecting wire going to the cruise control? I don't remember the colors as I type this, but there are two wires crimped into the electrical fitting. You might pull the connector off the instrument cluster and push it back on. That might temporarily break up any oxidation that could be interfering with the signal.

If you still have my email address, send me an email with your shipping address and I'll try to mail the module tomorrow.

It's a 95 940. I checked circuit integrity to the back of the cluster and it's fine. I am also getting a fluctuating speedo signal at the cruise control module, so the signal is reaching there and I suspect the fault is in the module. All the other components check out.
