Need help choosing brake pads 200 1990

I'd like to order pads, before my rotors are shot. Now I'm wondering what brands are good. I am leaning towards Bosch in the front, and Akebono (?) (sp) in the rear. Now, I can't find an id plate in the trunk to tell me what I even have as far as the rear goes. I know I must have vented Girlings in the front, but the rear? I'm not sure. It's an 1990 245 DL Calif edition. I see two types of pads offered, a solid design, and a split pad kinda design. Guess I'm a bit confused on what brands are good, and what I need.

Thanks!!!

    Bork^3,

I Agree with Scorron and wish to add that PBR squeal the least. I would still use anti squeal measures but in all the 240's I have owned and of all the pads I have tried PBR was always quiet.

I'm sure there are a thousand posts about which pads are good for your ATE rear calipers. PBR/Axxis are common. Volvo OE have always been trusted. The only thing I would not get are store-brand pads, or anything with a lifetime warranty.

The Akebono ceramics for the rear are a great pad for a great price. You can't go wrong with those, and nothing more expensive is needed. I raced with those on slotted rotors and they performed flawlessly. If you can find a matching pad, or maybe a Hawk ceramic for the fronts, I'd go that route. The pad options for your car are better than they were for my '83 245 Turbo (non-ABS setup).
