Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Could be the main pump, under driver side. You're not likely to see any symptoms while in park unless you put a FP gauge on it.
I had one with similar problem. The original pump was worn out such that it would pump good some of the time but suddenly drop pressure as the rotor in the pump began to wobble in the bushings. (at least that's my theory of what was happening) I noticed it after jury rigging a pressure gauge to the fuel line and revving it until the anomaly occurred. Then I took the pump out and hooked it up to a redneck test rig where I could actually observe the delivery rate and pressure.
Anyway, a new pump and filter solved that issue for me. For you, I would also suggest considering the in-tank pump and filter to be at fault as well as checking the FPR. (all in the FAQ)
