Plasti-Dip on Trim? 200

Has anyone ever used Plasti-Dip on the black pieces of the car? My trim pieces are in horrid shape from age and no amount of Black Restoration products/applications helps. I've seen this option suggested/used for my significant other's Ford Edge, but I haven't found anything on here about it.

I think i'm going to buy a can of it and try it on a trim piece/bumper. Supposedly you can just peel it off if you're not happy with it. Any insight or stories about using this stuff would be great. If it turns out, i'll post photos. It might be a good alternative to replacing trim... hopefully!

I don't think I'd use it on the bumper, but I'm sure it would work.

SEM is a great company out of SC who makes professional paint products for auto restoration. They have a few specifically for this kind of thing, including their Texture Coating. They sell everything in aerosol cans for those without the equipment to shoot from a spray gun, but they can get expensive.

I have used the Texture Coating with great results, and it is what I would use on this kind of project, top coat with their trim paint black. Call the company up for product recommendations and application tips - they are very friendly.

3M also makes a rubber or plastic trim spray. I used it on my '83 turbo trim. Looked like the factory, and easy to apply...but I'm not sure on how long it would last, as I sold the car.

But, it's cheap and easy to do, with only masking of the surrounding areas required.

what year/model? I've had it with trim- decided last night after re-applying my over bumper trim (done right involves removing the bumper)- that I am going to remove all the trim in the spring and fill the holes before a re-spray. I have a complete set of 83' 245 trim on the market- all in very good condition.
Best,
Tom
