Spark Wire Distributor Connections 900 1994

I need help properly connecting plug wires to the distributor. I disconnected all the spark wires from the distributor on my daughter's 1994 945 (non-turbo). I assumed (I know) that I could easily find the sequence.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh well. I've tried the plug wire connections both clockwise and counterclockwise. No difference. Obviously something else wrong. As soon as I fix the coolant spray from the back of the engine (lower passenger side), I'll come back to this problem. Back to the battle.

    Cover me boys!

I'm sure he will need to know where #1 is on the cap.
The cap is on the back of the Cam on 900's???

His picture gave me his starting point, Tony.

        Must be a turbo, Spook.

            Hi Everybody,

Appreciate your replies and I think you have identified the problem. I used a diagram/spec sheet off another forum site to attach the wires. That diagram shows the rotation as being counterclockwise. The engine is apprently trying to run on two cylinders. According to the very clear diagram Tony sent me, I just need to swap positions of 3 and 2 because the rotation is clockwise.

I'll swap the wires and report back. Ya'll are the best!

It sure looks like the skinny little Rex/Regina IAC? I don't think they made Turbo Regina's.

            Dear The Rod,

Hope you're well. The picture shows the turbo. So far as I know, in regard to Volvo 940s sold in North America: (a) all turbos have Bosch engine/ignition management; (b) Rex-Regina was used only on non-turbo-equipped vehicles.

            Hope this helps.

            Yours faithfully,

            Spook

                Dear hardknocks!,

Hope you're well. I presumed - possibly incorrectly - that the photo lucid put in his post, was that provided by rpwood (http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1567222/940/960/980/V90/S90/1342_per_photo_nmi.html ). In any case, the photo shows the block-mounted distributor.

                Hope this helps.

                Yours faithfully,

                Spook

        Dear TonyH,

Hope you're well. On most 940s, the distributor is mounted behind the engine, at the end of the camshaft. On others - some with the Rex-Regina Fuel/Ignition Management system - the distributor is mounted at the front of the engine block.

        Hope this helps.

        Yours faithfully,

        Spook
