Daytime/nighttime/all the time headlights 900

My new 95 has the DRL curse; 3 choices, on, on, or on.
If I'm working on something with the key on, the hl's are on, which is bad.
So; the FAQ touches on it but seems to say that other switches will swap in. It also says that some have 5 pin,(this one) and that 4 pin will work to fix the DRL hell.
I'm looking for confirmation as to what years hl switches may/will swap in and work, or if the 5 pin in the car now has a tiny switch on it to turn off the DRLs.
I didn't see one, will look later when I'm back at the car.

My friend who does a lot of electrical said he thought this was not a switch issue but a wiring one, with two wires going to one pin. ??? It has not been opened before I beleive.

    Dear jerryc,

Hope you're well. Your headlight switch is - I suspect - intended for the Canadian market (Volvo Part #3515978). What you need is the US switch (#1362699). The Canadian-spec switch has an MSRP of $170. The US-spec switch has an MSRP of about $32.

Thus, if you swap the US-spec switch for the Canadian version, you can probably sell the Canadian version to someone north of the border.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook

Thank You for the heads up on the 1362699 part #
I going to order it from:
      http://www.swedishautoparts.com/940/Volvo-940-switches.html#linkbar
They have it listed for @20.48

I up in Canada and I do like to use my headlight in the daytime when I'm on the highway traveling, but I like to have them off when not needed.

Thanks Spook, it's interesting that I've had two 95's and they both had this switch.
I have spent so much on this car with the hidden issues (heater core, rack, water pump, radiator, more; but it's a really solid car so...)
that I don't want to spend more than I have to, so am looking for a compatible model. Maybe I can cross reference those part no's.

Edit; well the switch is on sale
      http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/products/Light-switch/1113495/1362699.html

It fits 91-2-3 in some models, and up to 98 (euro) in others. hmm...

To be clear, I am in favor of having the lights on while driving and leave mine on All the time. I just want to be able to turn them off if I want/need to.
As to bulb use, I have replaced two bulbs in the past 12 years, in my history of 6 7/9 cars, currently 4.

      Edit Again;
      Headlight switch for any 740, 760 85-87, 780 87-91, 940 91-95 all.
