Brake servo single line 120-130

Moss Motors is selling remote servo for $180. I have this model on my 220 and it has performed well. Meaning it doesn't eat brake fluid and it doesn't lock the brakes when you don't want it to. Any way a good price. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/SearchResults.aspx?SearchText=182-290&WebCatalogID=0

It is a good price. Thanks for the tip. Be aware however, that there are knockoff Chinese made remote servos that are sold as "lockheed-type". I have no first hand information on whether these are just as good as the real thing, but i have read posts here and there (mostly on UK/australian boards) that imply they might be inferior. I have noticed that you can find these lockheed-type servos on ebay from the UK at about the same price (more shipping of course). Might be worth a phone call to moss to find out who their supplier is.

I sent a quick email asking about manufacturer and country of origin and got an immediate response, as follows:

      Hi Matt,

Thank you for your question and for including a part number.

X.R.N. ENGINEERING LIMITED is the manufacturer and it's coming from
      somewhere in Great Britain.

X.R.N. supplies quite a few of our specialty products and they provide nice
      quality parts.

      Cheers,
      Ken Martin

I've always had good luck working with Moss back when I had British cars.

This does not mean a lot,, if you go to their website:

        http://www.xrnengineering.co.uk/about-us.html

        where they write:

¨Drawing from many years experience in sourcing specialist products from around the world¨

You will never know if the servo-booster comes originally from China or the UK.

Somewhere there must be owner reviews on this item and we can find out about the quality and durability.

        Who knows.....

If it's sold in the US it must have country of origin on the item not the location of the corporate headquarters.

That is good to know and good advice to call and find out before purchasing. Many well known aftermarket brand names were sold off to companies in China and the product is now Toys-Are-us quality. Mallory, Mr.Gasket and Lucas to name a few. My booster came from an Australian brake manufacture.

Buying anything from the Chinese is just another nail in the US economy's coffin. I know it's almost impossible to avoid but it should be the goal of every American consumer. Their products suck anyway.
