740 b lower motor ? 700

1989 740 sedan has a blower motor that I sometimes have to bang around the underside of the shin guard thing to get working....Is it the motor is going bad or is it a relay or something? Once running its fine and fairly quiet...no loud noises or anything but sometimes I have to give a good rap to get it going...

Who has the best prices on replacement motors? Thx..

First check your fuse. Know issue with it melting. I used a fusable link to repair. Covered in the FAQs. You'll have to pull the glove box to look at relay, resistor, wiring etc. Got my replacements from Autozone under $20. Not sure if yours is one wire or two. You'll know that once you pull the box. I just took my old blower in and ask to see the chevy blower motors per the FAQs. If it's one wire, could be something simple as the ground wire that connects to the case via mounting screw.
