I lived in Panama for 22 years and I know ALL about rain! Fortunately it was warm.
What I did was to clamp the fuzzie in place and mark through the holes with a right-angle scriber and then drill really small holes through the fuzzies at those points. Then I found some galvanized wire of the appropriate gauge and wired them in, twisting the ends together so they would stay in place. Worked out OK for me - this was in a 122 but I imagine any should work the same.
Sort of an elementary shade-tree solution.
