Thanks... Now I can work on the extras

Thanks to everyone that posted responses to my previous questions. After a few months of work I finally have a 240 that drives great and doesn't leak. Best of all it's not sitting in my driveway rotting through another Midwest winter.

Now I can work on projects that will make it even better. I have a turbo camshaft that I'll need help with at some point but any advice now would be great.

What kind of wiring, if any, do I need to install an automatic antenna from a 760? Assuming it's possible of course. I don't know if 240's are prewired for an automatic antenna or if I would have to run completely new wiring.

Take a look in the trunk, where an automatic antenna would be installed. Left side, toward the back. If you see an antenna wire, it will probably be siamese with the red antenna trigger wire. This, combined with the green, battery hot wire to the trunk lid is all you need to wire in an electric antenna.

Of course I am answering this as if you own a '90 240 sedan, but have actually no clue what you own.

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

I own an 87 240. Does that make a difference?

One of the features of this board is a drop-down selection for choosing model and year. It makes our fuzzy remote vision slightly better throughout the thread. Notice, I have selected model and year for you in this reply. I still might imagine you have a wagon, and it is blue, and very shiny. One of those descriptive terms would be relevant to your question -- not sure which.

However, you might check the trunk if you do indeed own a sedan. That is where I have indicated you'll find the answer. To illustrate how the year affects a response; my 1979 244 (a sedan prescribed by model nomenclature) does not come equipped with the Siamese antenna cable; I would need to take it from a donor should I wish to move the antenna from the A pillar to quarter panel. However, both of my 83's, a two-door, and a four-door, are equipped with the option.
