    Hello,

There are several ways to get a working heater fan in your car.

Finding a good used one, but keep in mind you will most likely get a 40+ year old heater fan.

If you still have your old heater fan motor, it can be repaired although if the internals are fried it would be too expensive.

When the old ones are rebuildable, they usually need to be cleaned, the brushes replaced and the funky shaft bearings replaced.

You can install a new non-original heater fan and blade.

And there are 2 speed fan motors that can made to fit the original mounting plate.

If you opt for non-original, make sure that the motor and fan turn in the correct direction as some motors/blades are clockwise and some are counterclockwise.

Or some heater fans come with a mounting plate that you can trim and attach in place of the old one, but I have not seen one of those fans that was a 2 speed motor and required the installation of a fan motor resistor to get 2 speeds.

I beleive that is right. Problem is the blower wheel is too large? Any idea where I can find a blower wheel (counter clockwise) 4 1/2 or 4/5/8 inch diameter, 3 inch width, with a 5/16 inch shaft?

            Hello,

I installed a S10 blower motor in my 544 years ago. Works great.

Remove S10 squirrel cage and drill out the 544 squirrel cage motor shaft hole so it will fit onto the S10 motor shaft. I traced the 544 motor mounting plate onto a 1/8" piece of aluminum and cut and drilled it to fit. I mounted the S10 heater resistor inside so it is cooled by the air flow. I wired it to be 2 speed.
