Proper way to remove the shift lock solenoid? 200 1991

I've converted the car from auto to manual transmission, with a few small details left unfinished. How do I remove the shift lock solenoid, can I just clip the wire running to it?

Sure. Just clip it. Proper way? I suppose the way you would expect it done if a dealership had prepared the swap for you, the items in dotted line below would be removed completely, and the NSS (E) would be replaced by a jumper for the starter switch and the harness for the M47's backup light switch.

Also, there is a selector wire used with LH2.4 (violet) allowing shift indicator output from the ECU in place of OD indication from the OD relay. This is done at the 12-pin interface plug between the cabin harness and the FI harness.

But for now, I'd think you'd be happy to feel it go into each gear surely and smoothly, 1-2-3-4-5. Congrats on doing a big job!

Hi Art!
I'm sure You answered it couple thousand of times. Can You send a link how to disable a shift lock on 1993 240? Greatly appreciated!

Disable shift lock on 93 240 200 1993

"Can You send a link how to disable a shift lock on 1993 240?"

Sorry. I don't know how. We just got a 93 in the fleet six weeks ago, and I've only had 20 minutes to look at it. It is different in the shifter department. And, because it isn't a car I drive exclusively (or at all, for that matter) the shift lock will be maintained in good working order should it be brought to my attention. I do have this parts drawing, if you want to try noodling this out for yourself...

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his od d diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him ..(Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good)..... A super calloused fragile mystic
hexed by halitosis. - ouch!

Thanks Art! I did indeed end up just clipping it. I've been driving the car for a few days now, and it sure is great to have it on the road and running with the new stick shift in there!
