Need fuel line - discontinued- HELP! 700

I need a fuel line for my 1992 Volvo 745T. This is the high pressure line that runs from the fuel filter to the fuel injector rail. Volvo part #6842618. This part has been discontinued by Volvo. If anyone has this part new or used, that they would like to sell to me please let me know. One end of this hose has a banjo fitting, and the other end has a compression fitting. It is the banjo fitting that has rusted to leaking fuel. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace just the banjo fitting with out destroying the rest of the hose? This fuel leak has brought my Volvo to a halt. I really would like to get it back on the road. Thank you in advance for any help.

Mark, 1992 Volvo 745T 318K, somewhere west of Portland Me. (now in a holding pattern)

    Hey Mark,

If you look in here, you'll find the name of someone who made these banjos available to us:

Fittings can be installed on the fuel line--but it is difficult--especially when the line is old and may be more brittle than when new--and tools made for the job are more than helpful. It's terrible that these banjo fittings are made of a material that can rust through--almost seems impossible--but happens a lot. Were it my car I would find a donor fitting and splice it into the line with fuel injection quality flexible hose--double clamped (aircraft type full circle without the slots in the band) on each end. The short piece necessary will not cause any problems. -- Dave
