Reset Fault Codes? 200

I replaced a coolant temp sensor and now I'm trying to clear the codes on a 1990.

Book says hold down button for 5+ seconds, wait for the red light to go out, then 5+ seconds again. Have tried this several times, but the original 2-2-4 is still there.

Is there another/better way?

Thanks!

Excellent! Removed 25A fuse for 2 seconds and all clear.

Thanks!

Yeah.. about that reset information.. I NEVER got it to reset that way. I actually got stubborn and tried it until the cows came Home...It didn't work. As PORKFACE mentione: On your '90, You should have a 25Watt fuse on the drivers side Fender( in a white Fuse holder) pull it out for a second. Your radio Presets will stay intact.
