Passenger Seat Module 900 1996

My passenger seat will go forward, but not backward. It will also tilt up, but not down. I don't think the problem is with the short cables since the same cable works in one direction and not in the other. The cable "kicks" when the switch is activated to move the seat, but the seat does not move? Could this still be a cable problem (needing the nail fix) or is it an electrical problem in the seat module?

Thanks for any help,
Bruce

I would guess that the switches are a bit corroded. I fixed mine by taking the switch apart and cleaning all of the contacts. Please be careful, the very small springs and bearings can get lost easily.

Klaus,

Thanks for your suggestion. Could you please send me, or refer me to, a picture and description of the access to the contacts that need to be cleaned?

Thanks,

Copy the above into the URL including the 'direction'.

The switch buttons get pryed up individually - just be careful!
