hey fellow bricksters
Well, I'm about to drive two hours tomorrow morning to check out a 940 turbo wagon that looks like it is in good shape for $1700 - looks nice, glossy paint and the seats are in pretty good shape. If I buy this one it will bring my grand total up to FOUR thats right I said it FOUR 1993 940 turbo wagons in my driveway. One is mechanically sound, but got totaled for a rear quarter impact, too ugly to drive. One is really top notch, runs so good my brother calls it the "stunt car" very fast and tight but it has clear coat leprosy - hi ho silver and a cloud of paint chips wherever I go. Third one has a nice interior but literally has brushed on house paint over some rust in several places - I plan to take a door and fender from No. 1 and paint them myself. Fourth one would be the nice looking but mechanically suspect one I am going to look at tomorrow.
My ultimate goal is to make two good ones and have a wealth of parts left over to shore them up stored in my garage.
Everyone I talk to says I am crazy. My funds are limited, to say the least. Cmon my brothers - somebody hit me with an AMEN volvo! to steel my resolve in this most whacky endeavor.
Nobody else understands, but you my brothers, you understand. Have I taken the dream too far? Am I over reaching the goal? Have I breathed too deeply of the rarefied air and am I swooping to close to the sun on this one? Are my waxen wings melting even as I type this?
I waver, perhaps falter even as I set my alarm clock and check google maps for my route - what say you, Volvo elite, purveyors of the Swedish miracle machines?
Any and all replies are greatly appreciated
