Speedometer sensor failure 700

You'll want to remove that section of harness from the car, remove the damaged end, and graft on new wire and connectors. These are available from the dealer, they sell wire pairs in kits for repairing coil packs on later cars. Or the entire section of harness is available from the dealer for about $65.

to remove the harness:
Cut the tamper-evident loop then carefully disconnect the harness plug from the sensor body. You may have to clean the area carefully with baking soda, water, and a toothbrush--salt residue can glue things together pretty well. Inside the car, find the other end of the harness on the drivers side in the trunk/cargo area. There's a black tamper-evident box which has the connector for the other end inside it. Pry open the box and disconnect the harness. Feed the harness out thru the hole in the body and work the rubber plug out of the bracket on the axle.
