The speedometer on my '91 940 GLE wagon works for the first few miles after starting and then just drops to 0 and does not read again or very occsionally will work for a few minutes. Any thoughts on what is going wrong would be appreciated.

Pretty sure it's the wires at the sending unit back at the differential. An easy fix, I did it with electrical tape, meaning to go back and put heat shrink tubing on the wires. As with a lot of my temporary fixes, it's still in place, but it works. I assume the odometer is also not working?

There's info in the FAQ; 91-2 are infamous. If it's accurate when it does work, you might look at the plug and wires at the diff, those can sometimes, if you're lucky, be the cause.
