FCP really stepped up this time!!! 900 1994

Hi All
I purchased a Nissens radiator from FCP back in 2007 or 2008 for my 940. Now 70,000 miles later it is leaking from the seam down by the lower passenger side. I called them up and inquired if this was covered by their lifetime warranty. Turns out that wasnt thier policy back then, that just started the last couple years. I asked if they could get me some sort of discount. The customer service guy I spoke to put me on hold, spoke to manager and then informed me they were sending me out a free warranty replacement!! Saved me $200 at Christmas time.
If I wasnt a lifetime customer before..I AM NOW!

A fine company with good people; I've bought stuff from them for years. Without them, a lot of the older Volvos would not be around.

Hope you're well. Good news, indeed!!! I hope FCP ships the failed item to Nissens, for post mortem. Such events are, thankfully, rare.

p.s. FCP's free warranty applies only to parts installed by a certified mechanic. Others must pay for the warranty coverage.

I was thinking about that myself. I've given up on the warranty due to the requirement of using a certified mechanic.

I would agree that FCP has been pretty responsive to problems recently.
But you *cannot* count on them to filter non-fitting parts through their catalog.

A comment about FCP's service 900 1994

Overall FCP Groton has been great to me.

However, about 3 years ago I bought 2 new steering rack boots (aftermarket) from them for my 240. The boots did not have the correct fitted ends so they could be secured in place. I called and explained my problem to CSR. He transferred me to the CS manager and all that guy did was give me a ration of s***. He was not helpful at all. I did NOT buy any parts from them again until recently. They do have the best prices on many parts so I decided to let go of my previous issue with them and give them another chance...

This is not the first time I've read about Nissen radiators leaking. IMO - OEM is the best choice and worth the extra money.
