General question about amazon seats 120-130

I suspect my driver's seat is actually the passenger seat from a different car. Can someone confirm for me that the driver's seat in a 122 should have the release button for the slider rails, as well as the seat back angle adjustment knob on the outside (left side) of the seat?

Seat rail adjusters regularly show up on eBay. I thought there was some sort of Volvo parts supplier in Laramie, though the name escapes me.

VDR Volvo is probably who you're thinking of. They are really mostly a repair facility specializing in older Volvos, and they usually have a few cars out front for sale. That said, they do have a dozen or so cars sitting around that appear to be parts cars, and I'm sure they sell parts if they have them. I've never done business with them, except to sell them a Volvo wagon from an estate I administered. They do have a good reputation in town, though. Since I turn wrenches myself for fun, I don't have much need for a mechanic!

I'll drive right past on my way home for lunch. I should stop and see if they have any seat rails!

General question about amazon seats 120-130

I stopped by at lunchtime yesterday, and found that VDR Volvo's collection of parts cars is much larger than I thought! I think there must have been 40 parts cars jammed into that yard, and a couple sheds full of parts too. He thinks he'll have the seat rails I need.

Both sides should have their controls on the OUTBOARD side.
Other than that they are pretty much interchangeable.
Are you related to Ed Preston?

Nope, not related to any Ed Preston as far as I know!

Thanks for confirming my suspicion about the seat. My driver's seat has the controls on the inboard side, and the heater vent interferes with the slider knob.

Rats. I'll have to find a set of sliders off a driver's side seat. Finding anything from an old Volvo in Wyoming is difficult. Anybody here have a set available that will fit a 1968?

Maybe you could just trade them side to side, with the passenger seat far enough back
not to need frequent adjustment,

It won't work to trade them side to side. The rails only mount one way onto the seat base, so a right side (passenger side) adjuster cannot be switched to the left side without cutting and welding the tabs that mount to the seat base. The rails on my passenger seat are identical to the ones on my driver's seat.

I can't find all of my log in info right now...(I'm here anonymously). But those seat rails should be easy to find. Off the top of my head, check with AC Wheeler in Leeds Maine (Allen Wheeler)-google for his phone number. Make it quick before he gets too much snow to get out in the yard. I would bet money he has what you need. If not, I'll try to provide another source(s). I have quite a few that I think have what you need.

Actually I may have a set myself, but check with Al first.

PS- Another comes to mind- Go to eBay and look for "Volvodoctor"- that's his user name. He's in New Hampshire. Last I noticed, he has some frames he is trying to get rid of. I think it's a 50/50 he has the rails.
