Moog part number for Volvo 3516944 tie rod end ? 900

Does anyone know the Moog part number for the outer tie rod end that crosses to Volvo part number 3516944 ?

My car (a 1991 740 wagon) has a CAM steering rack with 14mm thread on the inner tie rod attachment to the rack. The threaded portion of the inner tie rod that the outer tie rod end screws onto also looks like 14mm.

Rockauto lists two Moog tie rod ends: ES2161R ($35.79) and VVES3283 ($7.53).

I am replacing all the tie rods and would like to use Moog parts. The inner tie rod appears to be Moog EV332 but I am not sure about the outer tie rod end.

    I don't have a 740, but I got curious about your post. I tried this number VVES3283, the search engine returned no results. Here is what Moog lists for your ride (click on the link below). I hope this helps. Good luck with your project.

      Hi Fred,

      Thanks for the information. A search with Google showed that VV-ES-3283 is a cross for 3516944 but it is a European part. Rockauto would charge an extra $32 to air ship the parts from England. I ended up ordering Moog tie rod ends from FCP Groton for about $20 each - perhaps they are the same ones that Rockauto sells. I did order the Moog EV332 inner tie rods from Rockauto because they are USA stock.

        Hi Mike,

        This curious, next weekend, weather permitting, I will be replacing my outer tie rod ends, among other things on my 1990 DL245 so I have them still in the box. I ordered the outer tie rod ends from FCP Groton. It turns out the outer tie rod ends are the same for the 240 and 740 for our respective years. I just looked at the outer tie end boxes from FCP. They are both marked 3516944/386 VV-ES-3283 and sold for 19.95 each. The part is stamped MOOG, the box reads MADE IN SPAIN. I wonder what you will get from FCP?

          Hi Fred,

          The outer tie rod ends arrived from FCP and they are the same as yours - Moog VV-ES-3283 made in Spain.
