Hello all,
A few days ago my 1988 245 died suddenly after two minutes of driving. I immediately checked all fuses in the passenger compartment, then fiddled with the Fuel Pump relay. I am embarrassed to say I totally forgot to check the 25amp fuse in the engine compartment, so I had the car towed to my usual place. When I picked up the car later, the guy had changed the 25amp fuse and put in a new cap and rotor and set of wires ($100 for those parts – not OEM, plus labor). He said that old wires probably caused the fuse to blow. Is that possible? So far it hasn't happened again.
