The best and cheapest mechanic to work on your car can be found in front of a mirror. Just set one on the side of your computer when you are on the brick board looking for some of the how or what answers.

When it comes to working on any older car, it will probably be, only you, that will care for it more! A quick dollar, blinds a lot of the shop mechanics.

To feel like you are getting some inexpensive labor, have a bowl of "Top Ramen" at break time when working on the car.

Try a beer for a wrench buddy too! Just addind water into that bowl may not intice well!

Sorry, your log in name, made me do it or maybe it was a little devil on my shoulder. Trouble is, I think they are like vampires and do not reflect in mirrors! :)

About six years ago, when my daughter planned her move to L.A., I researched Volvo repair shops in that area and found (on this forum and elsewhere) two independent shops that were recommended. Subsequently, instead of taking one of my 240s with her to L.A., she instead bought herself a brand new S60 2.5T and now just takes it to her Volvo dealer, so she's never used either of these two indy shops and I can't vouch for them other than that others have recommended them.

    Here they are:

RV Volvo (ask for Robin), 818-244-1506

Victoria repair (ask for Lars), 800-95VOLVO
