I'm embarrassed to even make this post, for fear of the excoriating & disparaging comments it'll elicit. questioning my intelligence, parentage, etc.
I remove the drivers door motor what a bitch that job was even after door panel off.
This sucker was frozen solid. I was unable to move the gear with a 12" channel lock I'm talking frozen solid, I've not disassembled yet. It has my curiosity up I must see the reason.
So no motor, I still want a drivers window that does up and down. I oiled the slides and giant gear wheel, silicone in tracks, slide the window up and down no problems here, so just below the door lock plunger is a slide I had a roll of 1/8" cord, yes you can see where this is going, I tied on sliding track, ran up along side the glass left 18" sticking out of top of door. So here's the drill, I reach in the hole where the drivers door speaker once rested in repose. grasp bottom of an arm that attaches to window track pull down about 6", remove hand B-4 it gets stuck now I can adjust the window height easily. You arrive at your destination, pull on cord up comes window, for the final 1/2" to seat firmly in top channel Once more hand in speaker hole and push up. Done. OK I realize this is at least the most Mickey mouse repair you've ever heard of or in the top 5 of mickey mouse repairs. It is as my old departed dad would say, " necessity is the mother of invention". Have a nice day, Bill
