cruise control switch 200 1993

Help please, my '93 240 has broken stalk switch.
replaced stalk switch with one from an'86.
Color codes on the four wires to cruise control are color coded differently.
'93 has a blue,a blue w/ yellow tracer,a blue with red tracer and a white.
'86 has a yellow,a red, a brown and a green.
Does anyone know if the 2 switches are interchangable and if so
what wiring configuration will work.

You can use the earlier stalk if you take time to figure out the wiring, but you will have to give up one function, such as resume. I used one for a while this way. 90-93 stalks are hard to get, the one fragile piece in the system.
