89' 240 battery / electrical problem 200

Help please ... car starts and runs fine until rain storm or moisture. Following rain the car does not turn or start. I have to jump it and; its as if I disconnected the cables. I have to re-set the radio etc. If it has stopped raining, car starts and runs fine ....till next rain storm.
ANY IDEAS ?

If the car can be jump-started when "wet", the it must "turn" and "start". Sounds like the car may not get enough "spark" to start it when it's damp out. I had the same problem in my '87 5-speed. It would crank when wet outside, but would not "fire". I changed the distributor cap, rotor and spark plugs. It has started fine since then: wet or dry, hot or cold.

I agree, wet start problems are often fixed with new ignition parts.

Thanks for all the advice. Appears recent '89 problem was exactly happening to me.
It had to do with; disintegrating insulation on the key and knob lock switches in the drivers door, holding the central locking motors on continuously, or has fits.
