B230A 200

Hey,

I have a question regarding the B230A engine. What are your thoughts on its value and performance (efficiency as well as power)?

Is it a worthwhile engine to look for in a car? If not, then why?

thanks

I have a B21A. Like it because of the simplicity of the carburetor system. The standard gets 10 to 11 km per liter.

Here's a post about a recent b230A appearance

That is the carbureted version of the B230F, right? What country are you in?
I had a b21a in my 83 245 and didn't like the carburetor - it was a Zenith Stromberg, I believe. Apparently the SU carb equipped ones were easier to set up. Manual choke made starting in cold weather really easy. Power with the 4 speed manual was fine. Fuel efficiency was wierd - when I first got the car it was 10 L/km (around 24 mpg US)no matter what I did or how I drove - broken OD, 24 mpg, fixed OD 24 mpg, soft tires, heavy load, it didn't seem to matter, but once the carb started acting up I was lucky to get 20 mpg.

I'm in The U.S. but I heard about this B230A imported from Europe. I had never heard of that before so I wondered what was up.
