Hey,

I live in Chelsea, Vermont, about an hour and a half away. I'm in college too, but there's a great mechanic in Chelsea if you want to give him a call. His name's Antoine Lutz, shop number 685-3821. He only works on old volvos, and knows his business. You can tell him Luke Amber gave you his number if you want.

Hello,

What are you trying to fix?

Sorry, I live in NM. Also a college student.

Right now car won't start, and I am hoping it has to do with alarm system, as starter has been replaced, and has new battery, and this has happened before. AAA responder diddled with something under hood to get it started for return back to school, and referenced loose wire possibility. Offered to take it back to his shop, but didn't want to let him take it because I am NOT mechanical and am typical sitting duck for these guys. All panel lights go on, no noise; waiting for alarm remote to be sent up to try that. (Sears, who recently replaced dead battery, also disabled sound on alarm, although I'm not sure why they did that.) Just paid out almost $1000 (!!!!!!) hard, hard, hard earned $$ from p/t job to local mechanic who said rear axle broke (I'd slammed into a pothole), then also did some misc. stuff that included work on emergency brake ??? Need an honest, reasonable, local, heaven sent mechanic for everything that will and might go wrong while in Burlington, VT., including the true assessment of why car currently won't start, if alarm remote doesn't do the trick. I don't have the funds for big stuff that might not even been real. Thanks, all.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. You might just have a dirty battery terminal. Loosen them up and wiggle them back and forth, then try starting again. Wear gloves and be extremely careful of the dust, as it is pure lead.

Email me, bgreywolf (at) hot mail (dot) com. Note the "E" in grey.

I can tell you I've had a VERY VERY bad experience at Handy's automotive.

My dad lives in Burlington and I'm emailing him for some names now.

Ben
