While playing around with the electrical stuff putting the dash back together on
the Yellow Peril, I decided it MIGHT be good to see if the heater fan blows.
(It worked fine on all 3 speeds after I cleaned and repaired the motor.)
So I turned on the power and tried it out. NOTHING!!
So I pulled the console cover back off and took the fan switch out and noticed
there seemed to be one wire missing from the "contact unit". Sure enough, I found
the brown wire hiding in the shadows. I put it back into the "contact unit" and tried again.
NOTHING on 1 or 2 but seems to blow fine on 3. (Relief! Don't have to open the heater again!)
I checked the other wires and they seem to be OK but I still only get the one speed.
Next thing to try is to pull ALL of them out of the contact unit, pinch them to make sure they
are tight, and put them directly on the switch.
If that doesn't help, maybe I got some wires in the wrong place.
Can anyone give me the order of the colored wires around the "contact unit"?
I was careful to splice the wires to the same color wires when I refurbed the motor
and when I tried it out it indeed seemed to work normally, slowest on 1, faster on 2 and faster yet on 3.
I DON'T think I mixed them up, but there aren't many more choices!
Thanks for any help you can give!
