VADIS/VIDA questions and buying advice 700

Do the VADIS and VIDA discs contain ALL of the contents of the printed Volvo Green Books?

Which VADIS/VIDA discs (would 2008 do as well for an old 740 as the newest 2010B? Etc.) should I buy for my 1990 745 GL and 1991 745 Turbo SE?

Any other buying advice is solicited and welcome.

Thanks guys.

Not sure how far back they reach. They are specifically for Volvo's own ODB.
Having said that I use VADIS frequently for both instructions and parts identification.
Mine is 2005 and it certainly goes back to 1996 and I've been told that they do have some info on earlier
models but I haven't checked to find out how early. I'll post again if I can find out.

Does your version provide much in the way for 740s besides parts info?

I have a 2002 version which has all the parts info, but next to nothing else for 740s. I do see some stuff for later 940s which is applicable to 740s if I look in later years.

Mine has parts info and a little bit on bulletins.
It has this for the 240s clear back to 1975, which is applicable to a lot of 8-bolt B20 engines.
