I'm doing a complete brake job (calipers, rotors, pads - front and rear) on a '90 240 which I previously renewed some time ago. During the previous go round, I replaced all the front brake lines with the copper/nickel stuff from FCP. At that time I reasoned that the FCP aftermarket lines had to be damn close to the OE Volvo stuff; I reasoned wrongly.
The tubing of the FCP lines has weather the storm well enough, but the line (aka, tube) nuts have frozen to the tubing; I am guessing it has something to do with the lines being an alloy of copper/nickel and the nuts being steel. Backing out the line nuts just twists the tubing.
Anyway, I have a coil of Cunifer (copper/nickel) brake line and I plan to make up the lines myself. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the BRASS line nuts which Volvo used originally. I can find the correct M10X1.0 line nuts in steel almost anywhere, but I cannot seem to find them in brass.
Does anyone know of a source for these things made out of brass?
Thanks,one and all,
Rich
