Electrical question: Tiny shifter light bulb power source 700 1992

Does the tiny light bulb that illuminates the shifter (P-R-N-D-etc.) receive it's power from the neutral safety switch, or somewhere else?

In the '93 940 diagrams it would be fuse 22, which also feeds the seat heating switch lighting and the rear ashtray light.

Electrical question: Tiny shifter light bulb power source 700 1992

      Hi Bruce,

The reason I am asking, I have a short in this light. It works some of the time and times it doesnt. I can bang the cover and it comes on or shift the stick from park to low and sometimes it will work. I know the 740 is a pain to remove the neutral safety switch to clean, unlike the 240 which is a piece of cake. I was hoping that it was not receiving the power to the bulb from the NSS. This will lead me to chase down the short in the wire instead. thanks
