Yes, the wheels will go right on, as pageda said.
Your 740 tires (185/70R-14) will have a smaller outer diameter than your current tires. And, they have an even smaller outer diam than the original spec size (185/R-14, which is nearly impossible to find). Smaller than stock by 5.17%, according to this somewhat inconvenient calculator:

So if speedometer says 68-89 you're actually going about 65. And for any given road speed, you engine will be revving 5% faster so you'll have a bit more pep and consume a bit more fuel.
My preferred 14" tire size for the 240 wagon is 195/75-14. Its outer diam is probably the closest available match to the hard-to-find oem size and has a good load rating too (smaller diameter = less load rating).
