M46 Overdrive - changed fluid, worked for a day

Fluid with silver metalic sheen is evidence of cone clutch damage. Brassy color for syncros.

Sounds to me as if the cone clutch is damaged. If reverse seems to slip that would be the final bit of evidence the unit needs more than a filter cleaning.

To clean filter, easy if have the ability to remove the largest plug under the pan below the OD.

A quick temporary tool for that plug would be a pair of 1/4 inch bolts bolted through a flat iron the proper distance apart.
