oil leak probably CPS S90-V90 1998

I have been chasing an oil leak on for a while now.
Does not drip anywhere. It is invisible. When you idle for any length of time you get a burning oil smell through the heater/ a/c. once you drive away. Must be dripping externally on to the exhaust and burning. Internally the engine is clean, compression is good, o2 and exhaust is oil free.
I am pretty sure i found it. Small oil leak around the lower bolt securing the CPS. For sure that is the area as it is exhaust side.

Question.
Is it common for the CPS seal to leak? if so is it a seal or a gasket, etc. Is it easy enough to change. The T50 is a bit blind but not an issue.

Or is it common for the leak to be somewhere else and drip onto the cps giving the illusion of a leaky CPS.

Thanks

Here's an easy trick for finding hard-to-trace leaks.

Wash the area that you think is leaking. Allow the engine to dry completely. Maybe ever take it for a short drive to make sure all the water is gone. Then coat the leaking area with talcum powder. Sake it for a drive that's long enough to get the leak happening again. When you get back, pop the hood and look for the oily talc.

That seal will leak.remove the CPS and the trigger wheel and inspect the seal with a mirror. It is very difficult to seat that seal squarely without the proper tool.
