where to buy and what brand for Control Arm Bushings? S90-V90

My V90/960 is a 1997, if that matters (don't think it does) and I need the rear control arm bushings (they are really gone) but I've been told that the whole arm needs replacing. That seems sort of ridiculous but I'm not familiar with how these bushings are set into the arm. Is it better just to buy the arm? (the Volvo parts are pricey!!)

Tasca like the other poster said. $18.39 each. I just did the job. The front bushings were good. The ones at the rear of the control arms were bad. It was pretty easy. The bushings have and indicator so you'll align them right. I did it at home with a vice and some cast iron plumbing parts. Part number is 9191537. I live in Oregon and the parts arrived on my porch the next day. I would not use aftermarket bushings. I found aftermarket parts as high or higher than Volvo parts on this job. Tasca is great. Best place I've found to buy real Volvo parts.

Doug, I ordered them, too, from Tasca. I have them sitting in a box and I'm hoping to do the job tomorrow or the next day.

I thought it was ridiculous to replace the arms, such a waste! (and expensive!)

Can you post a pic of the tools you used to do the job?

I have six images ready to send to you. The trouble is I don't know how to post photos to the Brickboard. You can tell me how, or I can send them to your personal e-mail and you can post them. Let me know.

Some replace the bushings alone but it takes special tools, either purchased or home made and allot of work to replace just the bushings. I opted for the entire arms with bushings. Don't get ScanTech brand. I prefer OE.

      Dewfpo:

Hope I'm not too late to be of help. www.tascaparts.com is a Volvo dealer in Rhode Island that has prices that are below most discount dealers. Call them up on the phone, they are most helpful.
