I've got most of the front end removed from the car, and was poking around the subframe. It appears to be filled with quite a bit of "fluff". This picture is looking in from the upper spring perch. I know the car spend a long time parked for months at a time before I acquired it, so it looks like something built a nest in there?

    I've had 140 crossmembers filled with nesting material.
    Very difficult to get that stuff out of there completely.
    And no doubt it contributes to rust.

      I'm guessing the poor critter mainly lived in there when the car was located on Cape Cod. Last summer it moved 100 miles west to Springfield, MA. In November it moved 1,000 miles south to Atlanta. I've pulled a lot of the stuff out (as deep as I can get my arm) and no signs of a critter, live or dead. I think I'm going to stuff the Dyson hose down there and suck out what I can't reach.

        If it is a 130, you've got a critter coupe, a 4 door, they were practical voles, and if they were in a 220, they were headed to Volehalla...
