Anyone knows if all the 75-93 volvo 240 windshield are interchangeable? I have an old 1981 v245 and would like to take a newer windshield from a 1989 v240glt with black trims and all..would that work? some says windshield from the later 1993 v240se will not fit earlier models..is this true? thanks a lot

I developed a small crack in my 1985 windshield a few years ago, and the glass shop replaced the one with the chrome trim with the newer style windshield and weatherstrip. This is almost an encapsulated windshield, and there is not a chance of a leak. The down side is that I lost my ability to have the chrome trim.

If the "some" is an auto glass tech, their lists will show a different number 91-93, but that's because they sell it with integral rubber trim, highly valued compared to fooling around with the aluminum trim plus clips. The 89 will fit as will any other year 240. You'll need a new clip set, though, with the 89's glass.
