Replacing the 945T 900

First, glad the board is back up! I have been stewing over replacing our '95 945T (200K) that got "airbag totaled" on NYE eve. The only thing I have found to replace it is a pretty nice V90 with 173K. Dealership was asking $5900 or so, which is at least $700 over Blue Book. I think $5000 with the A/C fixed (compressor wasn't working when I test drove)is reasonable. Anybody got an opinion on this? Any suggestions as to cars?

    Replacing the 945T 900

    Hi from London England,
Interesting to see that 960's cost so much in the US. Over here, they are very cheap, I think because our gas costs so much. Nobody wants a big 3.0 litre 6 cylinder automatic over here so the prices are low. As an example, in early 2007 I bought a nice 1995 960 CD 7 seater estate with 140,000 miles on it and with just about every extra available on it (except for a CD player) and I paid £850 for it which is about $1400 (USD).
It needed a front mud flap and that was all I did to it. It passed the inspection 2 months later without any money being spent on it. You can see what I mean by going on ebay.co.uk

Good luck with your search for a nice 960 or V90.
    All the best
    Pete

there are a lot of 940 turbos here in new england at very reasonable prices. so much so it might be worth your cost to buy one up here and drive it back to georgia.

if i can be of help let me know.

i have extensive indoor heated facilities complete with all equipment to do any conceivable job on a car.
