If you have the typical thin metal arm that connects the pivot to the blade, chatter is caused by the arm being twisted. Usually they only chatter going in one direction. If that is the case, the blade is leaning into the direction of travel. Use two cressent wrenches to twist the arm so the blade is perpendicular to the glass. It may take a few tries to get it right. The wrench closest to the pivot is to hold the arm so you don't put a strain on the pivot. The wrench closest to the blade does the twisting.
